Urrbrae Agricultural High School Governing Council

The Urrbrae Agricultural High School Governing Council plays a pivotal role in the governance and strategic direction of the school. Its primary purpose is to work collaboratively with the school leadership team to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for all students. The Governing Council is responsible for setting the school’s vision and priorities, developing policies, and overseeing the school’s financial management. It acts as a bridge between the school and the wider community, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of students, parents, and staff are represented and addressed.

The structure of the Governing Council is designed to include a diverse range of perspectives, comprising elected parent representatives, staff members, community members, and the School Captains. The Principal is an ex-officio member, providing essential insights into the school’s operations and educational strategies. Additionally, there is a designated space for an Old Scholars representative, ensuring that the rich history and legacy of Urrbrae Agricultural High School are honoured and integrated into current practices.

Each meeting of the Governing Council includes an Agricultural & Farm report, reflecting the school’s unique focus and commitment to agricultural education. This report provides updates on farm activities, student involvement, and any developments in agricultural programs, ensuring that the Council remains informed and engaged with this critical aspect of the school’s identity. The Council operates under a constitution that aligns with the Department for Education’s guidelines, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective governance. This constitution outlines the roles and responsibilities of Council members, meeting procedures, and decision-making processes, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.
