Support
uniform
Some sports require students to wear their PE uniform during games. Others require students to hire a guernsey or shirt from the Sport Coordinator Office at a designated time, using a Commitment to Pay form. This will be indicated on the activity’s consent form along with any other uniform requirements like black shorts or shin guards.
This system allows all students greater access to the appropriate uniform for their chosen sport without additional cost to the families.
Commitment to pay form
If the sporting activity requires a student to borrow a uniform, a Commitment to Pay form will be provided with the consent form.
This agreement stipulates if the uniform is not returned to the library, damaged or lost, the borrower will pay the replacement fee indicated on the form. If the uniform is returned to the Sports Coordinator cleaned and in acceptable condition, there will be no charge.
This form is to be taken to the Sport Coordinator Office in K-block and exchanged for the required uniform. The uniform must be returned to the Sport Coordinator no later than one week after the last game/event. A late slip will be sent home if the uniform becomes overdue, if the uniform is not returned within a week of the late slip, an invoice will be sent home to replace the uniform.
Commitment to Pay Form 2025FEES
Sporting fees cover bus hire, umpires, entry fees and first aid. They are calculated based on the number of participants entry fees and the transport options available. They can also be affected if there are multiple sports on that day needing the buses, and the average cost of umpires for that particular sport. For example, senior boys’ football regards two umpires with some training and experience who are usually external from the school and bigger buses. But and small badminton team can be easily transported, and a coach, bystander, or other student can umpire due to the simple rules and demands of the game.
The fee amount will be indicated on the cover letter (information form) as well as the consent form and must be paid on submission of the consent form or prior to submission. Please complete and return the consent form to Student Admin and make payment no later than the date indicated on the cover letter. You may refer to our website for payment options using the reference code on the cover letter, direct bank transfer, or by contacting the Finance Office at 8274 7455 or email DL.0798.finance@schools.sa.edu.au. Please be aware that the Urrbrae sports program does not have to capacity to offer invoices.
No pay, no play is the general rule of thumb. We work hard to keep the cost of sports as low as possible while simultaneously offering as many opportunities as possible. If there is an issue with payment or a payment plan is required, please email the Sports Coordinator, Kacie Brereton.
Previous Fee Trends
The table below indicates how much a specific sport has cost in the past. Please keep in mind that fees are highly likely to change for the reasons suggested above, this is simply a rough guide.

Health & Wellbeing
Safety, health, and wellbeing are all high priorities for our students and staff involved in Urrbrae’s Sports Program. We want all players for any school to enjoy their time on and off the field therefore, players demonstrating poor sportsmanship behaviours will be removed from the field.
If a player has suffered an injury prior to the sporting event, which could be made worse by participating (concussion, strain, or sprain etc.), they must not play until the injury is resolved. In the case of a concussion, the student must be cleared by a medical professional to play again for their safety. Please inform the sports coach or the Sports Coordinator (Kacie Brereton) so they can arrange alternative ways for the student to be involved and supported.
weather Policy
Overview
The weather can significantly affect a sporting event and determine if a game or event is cancelled due to safety concerns. If a game or event is cancelled, the affected players will be contacted immediately, allowing them to make other arrangements.
Below is an overview of School Sport SA Weekly Sport Inclement Weather Guidelines. These guidelines can be applied to Knockout Sports and Day Carnivals however, the staff will endeavour to make a decision before the day of the event.
Weekly Sports – Heat
Outdoor Sports
If the estimated temperature as of 8.00am on the BOM app is 36 degrees or over, then all outdoor competitions for that day will be cancelled.
Indoor Sports
If the estimated temperature as of 8.00am on the BOM app is 36 degrees or over, then it is the responsibility of the Sports Coordinators from the two competing schools to make an agreed, informed decision. The host school should take into serious consideration the temperature and air flow inside their stadium.
Modifications to matches in conditions of high heat (but less than 36 degrees)
It may still be necessary to modify rules and game conditions to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all participants, particularly for sports conducted outdoors. These modifications could include; reduced playing time, increase break times etc.
Storms
Outdoor sports should continue when rain is present, except in the following circumstances:
- The rain is heavy enough to pose an increased risk of injury
- The playing surface becomes unsafe
- The presence of hail
- The presence of lightning
In the above scenarios, the teachers/coaches present will need to make an agreed decision as to either continue, momentarily pause, or abandon the match.
